This tutorial is written in and for PSP Version 7.04 and assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP. I am sure this can easily be done in other versions.

Don't forget to SAVE your work frequently. After your first save use 'ctrl S' to save often.

 

You will need Paint Shop Pro 7, you can get a trial version . 
You will need selections download here.
Place the Selections in you PSP selections folder (or make one for them)

         
You will need these images, just right click and save from here.
[place these into your psp patterns folder or open to workspace]

Remember this is YOUR clown. Feel free to make changes in colors or patterns..

 

Open new image 310x460 transparent 16.7 mil colors
name it - background
Save as clown.psp

 

(1) new layer name it SHOES
open selections/load from disk/sbclown-shoes.sel
use paintbrush, fill with black
deselect

Use magic wand highlight soles and laces of shoes
Use paintbrush fill with red
Use effects/3d/inner bevel/round

deselect

 

  Use magic wand (holding down shift key) highlight both shoes
flood fill with yellow
Use effects/3d/inner bevel/pillow
deselect
 SAVE-CTRL S

(2) open new layer name it LEGS
open graphic ccstripe1.jpg to workspace, minimize
open selections/load from disk/sbclown-legs.sel

    
flood fill both legs
selections/float
effects/cutout/ these settings:


repeat cutout with same settings but change V&H to 3 (plus)
deselect
SAVE-CTRL S

 

(3) new layer name it BARRELBACK
flood fill with black
selections- modify - contract 2
flood fill with styles/pattern/ wood008 - scale 34 angle 0
selections-select all
selections/float/
effects/3d/cutout with these settings:

repeat cutout changing the horizontal to -20 (minus)
deselect
SAVE-CTRL S

 

 

(4) open new layer name it CHEST
open selections/load from disk/ sbclown-chest.sel
flood fill chest with sb_redsmiley.jpg
deselect

 

(5) new layer name it BARREL
 open selections/load from disk/ sbclown-barrel.sel
using paintbrush, fill with color black
selections/modify/contract 2
flood fill with styles/pattern wood008 - scale 34 angle 270
selections-select all
selections/float/
effects/3d/cutout with these settings:


repeat cutout changing the horizontal to -20 (minus)
deselect
SAVE-CTRL S
